Antique French Burr Elm and Marble Top Commode, c.1860
Superb French marble top commode chest of drawers c.1860. Well figured grey marble top with rounded corners over a chest of four long drawers. Highly figured burr elm veneers arranged in a striking symmetrical pattern across the front. Shallow top drawer with shaped front continued on the sides, three deeper drawers within a moulded surround. Raised on bracket feet also veneered to match. There are woodworm holes but this is part of the character. Excellent colour and condition. Professionally stripped and French polished. Woodworm has been completely treated. Two keys supplied.
