White and Newton Long Teak Credenza Sideboard, 1960s
A beautifully designed & crafted ‘Knightsbridge’ sideboard of giant proportions! Designed by Robert Heritage for the award winning British fine cabinet maker Archie Shine and retailed through Heals department stores. The sideboard Features such as the stunning reeded drawer fronts, rectangular handles and curved lip to the back. The sideboard is constructed from a combination teak and afromosia. A , truly stunning imposing yet ultra stylish item of furniture from the mid century. The build quality of this is extremely high and better than most designer danish items! The layout of the sideboard consists of two large, shelved cupboards and a bay of four drawers, the top one fully intact with green baize lined cutlery inserts, the double doors open out to reveal two large shelved cupboard areas with a vast amount of storage capabilities. The sideboard is a tone darker than teak like more a rosewood colour but its the Teak version
This sideboard is in an immaculate condition. Its one of the cleanest examples of mid century sideboards we have seen and has been extremely well looked after. It has been cleaned and has a wax polish over the original finish to enhance the wonderful grains and future protection of the wood. There are minimal if any signs of wear and tear. There is a tiny mark to the door as shown in the photos’.
Overall this item is a 9.5 out of 10 and would look stunning in a mid century themed or contemporary home.
