McIntosh Rosewood Torpedo Sideboard, Danish Style, Refinished
This beautiful Rosewood Mid Century Sideboard is by the uk brand of McIntosh. McIntosh are renowned for their high end sleek danish style sideboards of which this one is no exception. Designed by Tom Roberson whom chief designed for Mcintosh of Kirkcaldy between 1948 and 1983 when he produced his most notable design the Torpedo sideboard. The sideboard has the iconic sculpted grab handles and plain minimal doors that ooze style and quality. The sideboard has two large cupboards with shaped shelving inside and lovely rounded cup handles. There is also a bank of three drawers with sleek minimal drawers with incorporated grab handles. At the end there is a lovely drop down drinks cabinet with pull out cutting prep shelf and small serving tray. This particular sideboard has very striking rosewood grains and makes for a strong statement piece of furniture from the mid century.
The sideboard has been cleaned down and then refinished in a combination of danish oil and buffing waxes. The condition is stunning and overall it a very high 8.5 out of 10. There are minimal marks inside the sideboard and the outside is an exceptional condition making this a fine example of refinished and well preserved vintage furniture. There is minimal marks or damage to the sideboard as it is a great example. Will make stunning addition to any retro or contemporary themed home. Scratch and rub mark to the side top edge shown in the pictures.
